Facebook ads for epoxy flooring contractors: what to prepare before you spend
A good campaign starts before the first ad goes live. You need a specific project to advertise, credible photos, a way to receive inquiries and a team ready to turn suitable projects into estimates. Here is a practical starting plan for a US floor coating business.
1. Start with the project and service area
Choose the type of work you want to promote first: for example, residential garage floor coatings. A campaign trying to sell garages, warehouse resurfacing and decorative interiors at once makes it harder to understand which message brought a useful inquiry.
Write down the cities or ZIP codes you can serve, your minimum acceptable project and any jobs you will not take. Use location controls consistent with that area, then confirm location again in the inquiry form. A location setting should not replace qualification. Review the actual locations of incoming projects and adjust when the pattern does not match your business.
2. Show work that belongs to your business
Choose clear photos of completed floors that you have permission to use. Show enough of the space for a homeowner to understand the result. A close-up of the finish can support a wider view; it rarely explains the whole project on its own. Avoid identifying details or personal belongings you do not have permission to publish.
If you show before-and-after photos, use the same project and describe it accurately. Keep originals so you can prepare different crops without stretching the image. Review each placement preview: important text, the floor finish and your business name should remain readable on a phone.
3. Write an offer your estimator can stand behind
The ad should explain what you do, where you do it and what happens after someone responds. “Garage floor coatings in [your actual service area]. Request an estimate for your project” is a starting structure, not finished copy. Add a real, relevant reason to consider your business, supported by the way you actually work.
Be precise about materials and installation claims. Do not call every coating system epoxy if that is not what you are offering. Avoid invented discounts, guaranteed installation times or warranty language copied from another company. Check the message with the person who quotes jobs; they will have to answer the questions it creates.
4. Decide where inquiries will be collected
Meta supports lead generation through instant forms and website forms. An instant form keeps the inquiry inside the platform. A website form gives you a page to explain the service in more detail, but that page and its submission process need to work properly on mobile. Neither option guarantees better customers.
Use a short set of useful questions: contact details, project type, ZIP code and approximate timing. Tell people what contact to expect and link to the appropriate privacy information. Submit a test inquiry and check where it arrives before increasing spend. Judge the choice by qualified projects and eventual jobs, not form submissions alone.
5. Make the handoff part of the launch checklist
Name the person responsible for contacting inquiries and agree when they will check for new ones. Give them the actual ad and form so the first conversation matches what the customer saw. Prepare a few practical questions about the space, location, timing and next step instead of an elaborate sales script.
Keep separate statuses for new inquiry, contacted, qualified, estimate booked, quote sent and won or lost. Record a useful lost reason where known. “Outside area” means something different from “could not reach” or “quote declined.” Do not mark a submission as a booked appointment until the customer has actually agreed to an appointment.
6. Test a clear idea and record what changed
Start with a manageable number of creative ideas. For example, compare a full garage transformation with a close-up that explains the finish. Keep the service, offer and qualification process consistent enough to make the comparison useful. Write down the question each test is supposed to answer.
A small number of leads can produce misleading differences, so avoid treating an early winner as proof. When you change a photo, offer or form, record the date and review the resulting inquiries. If several major elements change at once, you may improve performance without learning which change helped.
7. Review the business results, not just the ad dashboard
Look at spend, inquiries, qualified inquiries, estimates and won jobs together. Check that the periods match and that recent estimates have had time to close. Platform reporting and your records may use different attribution rules; label the source of each number instead of silently combining them.
